Thomas C. Card is an american director and photographer based in New York. Thomas was born in Johnson City, TN and raised in Decatur, IL. Card’s commercial photography career began in 1995 in NY, when interview magazine asked him to do a still life editorial. Since then he has contributed to many magazines world wide including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and the New York Times Magazine. His sense of beauty, wit, and whimsy permeates his style of story telling and can been seen in his collaboration on countless advertising campaigns. His commercial clients have included Gucci, Versace, Kevyn Aucoin, Ralph Lauren, Ferragamo, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Amazon, Barneys NY, Apple, Pop Sugar. Laura Mercier, Pepsi, Juicy Couture, Crest, Dr. Brandt, Ahava, Advair, Gap, Easy Spirit, Warby Parker, Victoria’s Secret, Adore Me, and L’oreal among others. 

In 2010, Thomas launched Studio B NYC, a full-service content creation studio to address the diverse demands of the new digital era.

Thomas Card’s first feature film debuted in 2012 at the new filmmakers forum at the St. Louis International Film Festival. Thomas co-wrote, and directed Finding Virginia.

Card’s large-scale landscape photography forms the central focus of his most theoretical work. With this work, Thomas uses the single image as a mark playing with repetition, sequencing, context, and tonal values to create a complex layers of coded meaning.

Thomas completed a multi-media exhibit entitled Tokyo Adorned. This series explores identity using studio portraits of Tokyo fashion tribe members captured in multi media platforms. Abrams published Thomas' first book, Tokyo Adorned, in March 2014. More information can be found about the book here.
